This new seed orchard is the result of a long term selection from french Prunus avium carried out by the Agronomic French Research Institute in Orléans.

Genetic basis is wide since the whole french forests have been visited to select the best plus trees. These trees have been grafted and planted in 26 clonal tests spread over the whole french territory. 36 clones have been selected from these tests. Selection criteria were : vigor (height and circumference), thin branches with an open angle, anthracnosis resistance and growth homogeneity inside the different tests. Character heritability has been checked at 20 years old in 4 diallele crossing tests.

Emphasis has been mainly focused on a thin and open branching, allowing the use of this variety for forestry as well as farming.

The first seeds are already available.
